Is nearly finished! I love the way it looks (and feels) in the satin, and the collar falls really well. Still to do, stitch on half the frogs and finish the bottom edge.

Well done,

I love your blog and the dress is fab!

I mananged to make my dress for my wedding last year and really enjoyed the experience.

You are going to look lovely on the day.

I wish I had kep a blog of my dress. It seemed to take forever, but I never got into a panic over it(unusual for me!). Fitting it on myself was a bit trcky. In the end I got a friend to help. The sewing forum also helped big time!

Keep up the good work! I shall look forward to seeing the whole hing on together....in other words the wedding photos!

I'm intrigued as to why you need a coat over that beautiful dress, albeit a beautiful coat!

Thanks guys! Taking forever is right - I had no idea the hand stitching would take this long! Still reasonably calm though, touch wood! ;)
The reason for the coat is that after the standard ceremony, we will be going for a sealing ceremony at the Latterday Saint (Mormon) temple.
Theres a strict dress code in the temple - it has to be white not cream, has to be full length, have full length sleeves and a high neckline. The men wear white shirts, ties and trousers. I guess its similar to removing your shoes or covering your hair when you go to temple as some religons do. Some people have a different dress, or wear a cardigan but I loved the elegance of the long coat.
